Obituary
NORMA JEAN DESMOND
Norma Jean Desmond, 86 of Huntington, WV, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. She was born August 23, 1926 in Cabell County, WV the daughter of the late, Earnest and Alma Bowen Triplett. She was baptized in the Baptist faith many years ago and often said “I am indeed blessed and grateful for all my blessings in so many areas of life.” She enjoyed her business, The Upstairs Rooms with her late friends, Elizabeth Fredeking and Kitty Gold. She loved the arts, was a member of the Tri-State Art Association and the Women’s Club of Huntington. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Louise Triplett Bias and her brother-in-law, Basil Bias. She is survived by husband of 67 years, Richard K. Desmond of Huntington, WV; her son, Richard K. Desmond, II. and wife Connie of Barboursville, WV; her sister, Gretta Faye Triplett Whitley and husband, Kohn; two grandchildren, Eric Desmond and Summerson Springer and husband, Brian; three great-grandchildren, “three dear little people” Brycen, Finnegan and Bennett Springer. A service to Celebrate Norma Jeans Life will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, WV with Rev. Jim Franklin officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Huntington, WV. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Wednesday. At the family’s request memorial donations should be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Rd. Huntington, WV 25702.
