ARTHA LEE McCARTY
Artha Lee McCarty, 70 of Ceredo, WV, looked into the eye of Jesus and was welcomed home at 9:50 AM on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. She was born March 9, 1942 in Ceredo, WV, the daughter of the late, Dennie and Beulah (Via) Walters. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Henson & Kitchen Family Funeral Home, Barboursville, WV with Bishop Ray Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington, WV. She was a homemaker, was Pentecostal by faith and was devout Christian who loved God and loved studying his word. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Walters, one sister, America Walters, one sister-in-law, Mary A. Walters and two sons, Dennis Monroe and Terry Michael McCarty. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Rev. Zeldon McCarty; three sons, Gregory McCarty and Timothy (Donessa) McCarty and Shannon (Tammy) McCarty all of Catlettsburg, KY; two daughters, Leisha (Bill) Messmer of Rush, KY. and Crystal McCarty of Ceredo, WV; three brothers, Santford “Pete” Walters of Ceredo, WV, Rick Walters (Alberta) of Proctorville, OH and Darrell Walters of Huntington, WV; one sister, Shirley (Jay) Finley of Ceredo, WV; fourteen grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Special loved ones, Joyce Swain, Rosa Blankenship Hale, Donnie Rae McCarty, Sharon Turley and Tessa Hatten. Life long friends, Julia Nunley and Betty Hardwick. Those honored to be serving as pallbearers are, Greg McCarty, Shannon McCarty, Terry McCarty, Sheldon Jenkins, Matthews Swain, Joseph Swain and Timothy McCarty. The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Henson & Kitchen Family Funeral Home, Barboursville, WV.
