ObituaryFrank Edward James
Frank
passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. He was
born February 13, 1926, the youngest child of Jesse L. James and Minnie
Preece James. He was preceded in death by his parents along with seven
siblings and his beloved daughter, Barbara James Lee. Frank served his
country in World War II, with the U.S. Army. He was also a 60 year member
of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union #317. After
retiring from the Electrical Trade in 1976, he developed residential and
commercial properties in the Barboursville area. Frank was a long
time member of Bates Memorial Presbyterian Church having served as both
Deacon and Elder. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially
golf. He was a great lover of animals, especially his dogs, feeding the
birds and deer on his property on East Pea Ridge. First and
foremost, Frank was a devoted father, husband, grandfather and great
grandfather! His is survived by his wife Nancy Bates James of Huntington,
W.Va; two sons, Frank Edward James, II. of Huntington, W.Va. and William
B. (Joy) James of Memphis, TN; son-in-law, Cobbie Lee of New Albany, IN;
his grandchildren, Brooke Roberson (Rod) of Dallas, TX, Kylie Koerner
(Jim) of Durham, NC, Nikki Shannon (Bubba) of Jonesboro, AR, Ben James
(Lauren) of Memphis, TN, Frankie James (Cara) of Barboursville, W.Va,
Brandon Lee of Durham, NC and Josh James of Huntington, W.Va. and nine
great-grandchildren who will miss their Papaw greatly. A memorial
service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Bates
Memorial Presbyterian Church 103 Jefferson Park Drive, East Pea Ridge,
Road, Huntington, W.Va. 25705 with Pastor Scott Hoppe officiating. His
service will be followed by a reception in the fellowship hall. The family
requests that memorial donations be made to the Bates Memorial
Presbyterian Church. Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington, W.Va.
