Carl Raymond Branscome, 70 of Coral Springs, Fl., passed away on Sunday, September 3rd, 2017. He was born on January 24th, 1947 in Capels, WVa, the son of the late Carl Dexter and Wilma (Cornelius) Branscome. He is also preceded in death by an infant brother Robert Wesley Branscome, sisters Drema Joyce Preston, and Sharon Kay Cummings. He is survived by his wife Sheila (Swann) Branscome, daughter, Laura Kiblin (Roy) son Jason Branscome (Jennifer). Sisters Lorraine Petersen, Betty Hennessey, Carol Ruth Mandt, and Marilyn Sue Gross. "Poppy" to grandchildren Taylor and Roy (RJ) Kibling, Nathanial (Nathan), Andrew, and Grace Branscome. He spent his younger years in the Vandalia/South Charleston area, and was a graduate of the Class of 1965 South Charleston Black Eagles. He graduated from West Virginia State in 1970. He was an Assistant Advertising Director for Winn Dixie Stores, Miami Division for a time, then a Store Manager for several area Winn Dixie Stores. Later he was a Store Manager for PharMor Stores. He became a Realtor for a short time and found his true talent and passion as a professional Handyman until his retirement in 2015. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September, 9, 2017 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington, W.Va. near Barboursville, W.Va. with Pastor Brady Lipscomb officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington, W.Va.
