Robert Deane Phillips, 81 of Barboursville, W.Va. passed away, Monday, January 29, 2018. He was born August 19, 1936 the son of the late, George and Virginia Rutherford Phillips. He was a Systems Engineer and Metallurgist with International Nickel Co. a United States Marine, Attended Concord Collge, graduate of Marshall University and past PTA officer at the local and state level. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Judith Phillips and one brother William Phillips. He is survived by his four children, LeeAnn Massey (Henry) of LA, Deanea Pettie (James) of NC, Aaron Phillips of GA and Rhonda Gittis (Steve) of NC; grandchildren, Kelly Griggs, Stephanie Nolan, Andrew Phillips, Grant Phillips, Samuel Gittis, Natalie Gittis, Phoebe Gittis, Kyndall Pettrie, Jillian Pettrie and numerous great-grandchildren. The family would like to say thanks to some special friends and caregivers, Leigh Ann Wilson and Kristie Sarver who gave him excellent care and friendship. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Ridgelawn Abbey of Devotion Mausoleum. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington, W.Va. near Barboursville.
