Donald Ray Wheeler, 83 of Huntington, WV passed away, Thursday, June 28, 2018 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. He was born March 15, 1935 in Huntington, WV the son of the late, John Oliver and Nellie Bly Hicks Wheeler. He was retired from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran and was also a retired area Baptist Pastor having pastored many churches over the years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon Baylous and Willa Wheeler; two brothers, James Arnold McCoy and Virgil McKinney McCoy. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Gissel Wheeler of Huntington, WV; three sons, Donald Ray Wheeler II. (Valerie) of Lavalette, WV, Craig S. Wheeler of Knightdale, NC and Matthew Colt Wheeler of Proctorville, OH; two brothers, John Roger McCoy (Connie) and George Edmond MCCoy (Becky) all of Huntington, WV; grandchildren, Sierra, Seth, Madison (Todd), Garrett, Jacob and Rachel. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:30 PM on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, East Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, WV with Pastors Pete Davidson and Ron Brewer officiating. Burial will be private at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. There will be no public visitation.
