Matthew “Uncle Buck” Connor Townson, 14, went to be with God on Sunday, August 29, 2021. He was taken far too soon by senseless gun violence. Matthew was the son of Trina Kay Townson of Rush KY and Roger Lee Townson of Huntington, WV. He was loving, kind, humorous, but most of all, he was the life of the party. He loved riding his 4-wheeler, animals, singing and dancing and being in the water. If you know Matthew, you know there was not a window or mirror that he couldn’t walk by that he didn’t stop at to look at himself. Matthew loved everyone. He was tough and strong but with his nieces and nephews, he was soft and compassionate. He was born December24, 2006 in Ashland, KY. He was preceded in death by a sister, Amy Townson; maternal grandparents, Linda Sue Taylor and Randy Allen Adkins; paternal grandparents, Emma Mae Ross and Ronnie Townson; maternal great-grandparents, Ronald and Shirley McGuffin. In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by two sisters, Sarah Bocook (Scott) of Huntington, WV and Teresa Kimball of Huntington, WV; four brothers, Kaleb Purdin of Frankfort, KY, Cameron Townson (Courtney) of Frankfort, KY, Caiden Townson (Bethany) of Ashland, KY and Tristan Burdine of Huntington, WV; two nieces, Gabriella and Zoey Townson; three nephews, Maddox Bocook, Josiah Townson and Raiden Townson; aunts, Dreama Greer (Jeff, Vicki Rice (JoJo) and Christy Spradlin; uncles, Randy Adkins, Donald Ross and Joe McGuffin; Matthews girlfriend, Everline Calloway of Huntington, WV; numerous cousins and friends. Special thanks to the Cabell Huntington Hospital staff and nurses, Teehia, Amber and Ellen as well as a special thanks to KODA. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday Henson and Kitchen Mortuary 6357 E. Pea Ridge Rd. Huntington, WV near Barboursville with Rev. Dustin Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 PM service time on Wednesday at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary.
