Miriam Greenstein
October 28, 1924 - November 13, 2010



Miriam Greenstein, 86, of Huntington, died on Saturday Nov. 13, 2010 in St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born Oct. 28, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA. Miriam was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Wattman, but was raised in the Philadelphia Foster Home for Hebrew Orphans. She was also preceded in death by brothers Meyer and Bernie Wattman, and her beloved daughter, Sharon Greenstein lwanczuk. Miriam is survived by her husband of 67 years, Alfred Greenstein, her son Murray Greenstein and daughter-in-law Anne Greenstein all of Huntington. She is also survived by a grandson Alex Greenstein and his fiancée Amanda Cherrin both of Washington, DC. , and a son-in-law, Steve lwanczuk of Lansdowne, PA. Miriam will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends from across the country, who were enriched by the caring, nurturing and mentoring interest she took in their lives. Miriam never met a stranger and was a friend to all who needed one. She was a dedicated member of the 700 East Alumni Association, The Suncoast Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. There will be no visitation or memorial service in Huntington. Services will be held at a later date in Philadelphia. Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Huntington Museum of Art in Miriam's name or to the Suncoast Chapter NRHS, PO Box 15828, Sarasota, FL 34277-1828
