Handloser
August 8, 1921 - September 21, 2010
Mary T. Handloser, 89, loving wife,
mother and grandmother passed away Tuesday September 21, 2010 at St Mary’s
Medical Center. Upon her August 8, 1921 birth, she was given the name of
Mary Elizabeth Taylor by her parents the late Fred A. and Calla Reed Taylor.
A life long resident of Huntington, Mary graduated from Huntington High
School and Wiseman Business School. She married her beloved husband Dan A.
Handloser on September 25, 1942 at Johnson Memorial Methodist Church and
together they have shared 68 years as a couple and raised four children.
Mary retired from Huntington Federal Savings and Loans with nearly 20 years
of service. She held the office of Financial Secretary of the Association
and was head of the loan closing department. Mary was a member of the Quota
Club having served as past president of the Huntington chapter, the Woman’s
Club Huntington, the Mayfair Dance Club and several bridge clubs. In earlier
years she participated in various golf and bowling leagues. Mary was a
member and former trustee of Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church and
together with Dan travelled several summers with the church youth group.
They also enjoyed travelling internationally visiting Australia, Asia,
Russia, and made multiple European trips with friends. In addition to her
parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother Woodrow J. Taylor and
son-in-law Stephen Charles Foster. Mary is survived by her husband Dan A
Handloser; daughter Linda H. Taylor and husband Nick of Ocala, FL; daughter
Carolyn H. Foster of Huntington; son Dan A Handloser, Jr. and wife Robin and
their daughter Emily of Bardstown, KY; and son Jeff T. Handloser and wife
Pam and their children Jessica and Mitchell of Proctorville, OH. Friends may
call at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary in Huntington from 5 – 8pm Friday
September 24th. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Saturday September 25th
at Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Lipphardt
officiating. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington.

to the charity of ones choice.
