Virginia Hager Smith
October 30, 1930 - September 6, 2010



Virginia Hager Smith, 79, of Huntington, died Monday, September 6, 2010 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born October 30, 1930 in Logan County, W.Va. a daughter of the late William McKinley and Birdie Palmer Hager. A member of Cox’s Landing United Methodist Church. She was also preceded by her husband, Herbert L. Smith; a daughter, Suzanne Shuff; a son, Jack Smith and four brothers and five sisters. She is survived by three daughters and three sons, Linda Holley and her husband Mike, Jennifer Nelson, Karen Varnum and her husband Carl, Mike Smith and his wife Vickie, Pat Smith and his wife Charlotte all of Huntington and Larry Smith of Princeton, W.Va.; 26 grand children; 27 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann Butcher of Logan County, Jessie Manweiler of Sterling Park, Va. and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Klingel- Carpenter Mortuary by the Brother Timothy Shuff. Private interment for the family will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens. Friends may call Thursday 4:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to The American Heart Association or the organization of One’s choice.
