Jack Gottlieb

Jack Gottlieb, 87, of Huntington died
Thurs, Dec. 22 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. A son of the late Harry
and Anna Gottlieb, he was born and raised in Pittsburgh, graduated from Pitt
and served in the Navy in WWII. He moved to WV with his family in the late
50s, became active in the community, became a CLU with Penn Mutual, served
as president of B'nai Brith and Ohev Shalom Temple during the merger of
Huntington's reform and orthodox congregations and was a member of the Elks
and Masons. He always enjoyed his various breakfast and lunch groups
throughout the years. He was known for his big heart, ready smile, his
friendly and generous nature, and his signature "Doo Wah Diddy." From Sunday
neighborhood pickup games to the Senior Olympics, Jack played softball
through his mid 80s. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley and
wife, Gaile. He is survived by his sister, Carol; daughters Linda, JoDee,
and Lori; son-in-law, Pete Ingram; grandchildren, Corey (Josh) Whisman and
Joe Ingram and his loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will
take place Monday, Dec. 26 at Temple B'nai Shalom. Friends may call for
visitation one hour prior to funeral service.
