(December 22, 2011)

Jack Gottlieb, 87, of Huntington died Thurs, Dec. 22 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. A son of the late Harry and Anna Gottlieb, he was born and raised in Pittsburgh, graduated from Pitt and served in the Navy in WWII. He moved to WV with his family in the late 50s, became active in the community, became a CLU with Penn Mutual, served as president of B'nai Brith and Ohev Shalom Temple during the merger of Huntington's reform and orthodox congregations and was a member of the Elks and Masons. He always enjoyed his various breakfast and lunch groups throughout the years. He was known for his big heart, ready smile, his friendly and generous nature, and his signature "Doo Wah Diddy." From Sunday neighborhood pickup games to the Senior Olympics, Jack played softball through his mid 80s. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley and wife, Gaile. He is survived by his sister, Carol; daughters Linda, JoDee, and Lori; son-in-law, Pete Ingram; grandchildren, Corey (Josh) Whisman and Joe Ingram and his loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will take place Monday, Dec. 26 at Temple B'nai Shalom. Friends may call for visitation one hour prior to funeral service.
