Mr. George
Beter, Esquire
(July 4, 1929 - November 27, 2011)
George Beter Esquire, 82, of Huntington, died Sunday,
November 27, 2011 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington.
George was born July 4, 1929 in Huntington, a son of the late David and
Sophie Maron Beter. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a
sister, Mary Beter and three brothers, Peter D. ,Thomas D., and Joseph D.
Beter. He was an attorney and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and
a former member of the Huntington Symphony Orchestra as a violinist , he
served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and
was the assistant and acting U.S. attorney appointed by President Kennedy.
Survivors include four children: Marlene Moore of Orlando, FL, Teresa L.
Beter, Amy Anderson and Joseph A. Beter all of Huntington; two
grandchildren, George Mason Tyree Anderson and Samantha Anderson; two
sisters, Edna Merritt of Atlanta, GA and Georgette Greene of Las Vegas, NM.
Funeral Liturgy will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the St.
Joseph Catholic Church by Monsignor Lawrence Luciana, Celebrant. Interment
will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, from 6 to 8
p.m. with a Rosary held at 8 p.m. by Father Jim Sobus at Klingel Carpenter
Mortuary. It is suggested memorial contributions be made to Father Jim Sobus
at Our Lady Of Fatima Catholic Church, c/o Hospice of Huntington for Ipads.
