Mr. Ronald Clark Kyger
(April 20, 1927 - October 17, 2011)



Ronald Clark Kyger, 84, of Huntington, passed away Monday, October 17, 2011 at Woodlands Health Care. He was born April 20, 1927 in Ravenswood, WV, son of the late Mabel May Chambers and Virgil George Kyger. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Oren V. Kyger and his wife Elizabeth Bitting; a brother-in-law, Sexton M. Linger and his wife Anna Lee Bailey. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evalee Linger Kyger; a son, David Linger Kyger and his wife Daria Kordick of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Mariel Kyger of Los Angeles, CA, Nicholas Kyger of Raleigh, NC, Madeleine Kyger of Chapel Hill, NC and Brittany Kordick of Westfield, NC; nephews and their families, Kenneth and Gloria Kyger and Timothy and Billie Sue Kyger, all of Gallipolis, OH and Jackson B. Linger of Detroit, MI. Ron graduated from Marshall College and WV University College of Law. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army 85th Quartermaster Corps. He practiced law in Harrisville, WV. As Assistant Attorney General of WV, he was counsel to the State Tax Commissioner. He was Trust Officer at the Charleston National Bank, Vice President and Trust Officer at the First Huntington National Bank and retired from Real Estate Management with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church and served as treasurer of the WV Methodist Conference for several years. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday October 21, 2011at the Heavner Cemetery, Buckhannon, WV with the Rev. Billie Scott Mick officiating. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 1124 Fifth Ave., Huntington, WV 25701, Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709 or to the charity of one's choice.
