Wallace Tippett

Theo Elizabeth Wallace Tippett, 62,
of Huntington, died Monday, September 12, 2011 in the Emogene Dolin Jones
Hospice House after a four year battle with cancer. She was born May 7, 1949
in Wheeling, W.Va. and was raised in Vienna, the daughter of Nancy Caroline
Geppelt Wallace of Vienna, W.Va. and the late Billy Garrett Wallace. She was
also preceded by her father-in-law, Lawrence Theodore Tippett. She was a
graduate of Marshall University where she received her Master's Degree in
Educational Administration. She was a member of Johnson Memorial United
Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Koinonia Sunday School
Class, Beverly Hills Garden Club, Jr. League of Huntington, Ivy Dance Club,
Musical Arts Guild where she performed in numerous plays in the 1980's and
early 90's, Phi Mu Alumnae, Advisory Board for Marshall Artist Series 50th
season and Walk to Emmaus (October 2008). She was a speech and drama teacher
at Huntington East High School in the early 70's and taught 7th and 8th
grade English at Beverly Hills Middle School. In addition to her mother she
is survived by her husband of 40 years, Larry Thomas Tippett; a son and
daughter-in-law, Thomas Wallace and Danyelle Clemens Tippett of Huntington;
a granddaughter, Isabella Jean Tippett of Huntington; a brother, William
Garrett Wallace and his wife Sally of Bedford, NH; mother-in-law, Betty Jane
Bolling Tippett of Huntington; brother-in-law John Tyler Tippett of Atlanta,
Ga.; nieces Kasey Wallace, Minneapolis, Minn. and Mary Kathryn Tippett of
Atlanta, Ga.; nephews Adam Wallace of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Jordan Tippett
and his wife Katie of Boston, Mass.; "The Beaches" Jimelle Bowen, Marilyn
Murdock, both of Huntington, Margaret (Pixie) Dillard of Columbia, S.C.,
Karen (Jonesy) England of Richmond, Va. and Jill Rawe of Charleston, S.C.
"together we travelled…". She maintained a Christian Friendship with her
friend since 2nd grade, Dianne Shutts Cary of Sandyville, W.Va. Tommy's God
Parents, Vicki and Bill Patterson of Lebanon, Ohio; special friend Becky
Dingess; Hope Lodge Caregivers, Jennifer Sias of Huntington, Karen England
of Richmond, Va., Jimelle Bowen, Linda Craig, Becky Ray and Priscilla Coffey
all of Huntington. The family would like to thank Dr. Gerrit Kimmey and his
staff at HIMG, the 6th floor oncology nurses and staff at St. Mary's
especially Mary McGuckin and Becky Estep, Vicki Crook and Marjorie Copley
with Hospice of Huntington. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m.
Saturday, September 17 at Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church by the
Rev. Jack Lipphardt. The family will receive visitors following the service
at the church. Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
