Obituary
Juanita Mae Moser
(April
16, 1922 - November 27, 2013)
Juanita
Mae "Tiny" Moser,
91, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at her home.
Tiny was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Frank W. and Elizabeth
Brodtrick. She came to Huntington with her parents in 1937, where she
graduated from Huntington East High School in 1941, and began work with
Montgomery Ward and Co. Tiny married Raymond B.
Moser, also of Huntington, on November 30, 1945. The couple lived in
the Highlawn area of Huntington and later at The Woodlands Retirement
Community until her death. In later years, Tiny worked in Huntington for The
Sylvania Company, at Belle's Clothing, and at Galigher Ford, Inc. In 1968,
Tiny joined Marshall University, where she operated the Centrex telephone
system for 17 years, retiring in 1985. Tiny was a member of the First United
Methodist Church of Huntington and the Beverly Hills Methodist Church,
teaching Sunday School for young people and participating in Women's Circle.
She was active in a host of church functions and lived her faith strongly in
visiting and sending greetings to those with health concerns or needing
encouragement. She was a member of The Women's Club of Huntington, The
Federation of American Business Women, a Charter Member of the Riverside
Swim Club, and a Friend of The Cabell County Public Library, where she
worked for many years in the annual book sale. Tiny enjoyed nothing more
than a visit or outing with family or their many friends in Huntington and
elsewhere. Group vacations to the beach, a good book or a a game of cards, a
Sunday drive around the tri-state area, and especially a visit with their
son or grandsons and families, were all high on her "good times" list. She
will be remembered by many and missed by us all. Tiny is survived by her
loving husband Raymond, residing at the Woodlands Retirement Community in
Huntington; one son, W. Scott Moser and his
wife, Catherine of Edenton, NC; grandson, Eric B.
Moser of Alexandria, VA; grandson, Geoffrey M.
Moser and his wife, Kelly and two
great-grandsons, Colton Malcolm Moser and
Beckett Shaw Moser, all of Eagle, CO;
brother, Larry M. Brodtrick, also of Huntington. In addition to her parents,
she is preceded in death by three sisters, Kathleen Hatch, Dorothea Edwards
and Margaret Foster, and one brother, Frank W. Brodtrick, Jr. The family
will receive friends 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service at 2 p.m. by
the Rev. Mark Connor on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Klingel Carpenter
Mortuary. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park which will be
private. It is suggested memorial contributions be made to the First United
Methodist Church or to The Cabell County Public Library. The family would
also like to express their sincere thanks to the management and health care
staff at The Woodlands Retirement Community for the loving care and comfort
provided to Tiny during her final years.
