ObituaryHarlow Dennis Dodge
Harlow Dennis Dodge, 99, of Huntington passed away Wednesday, April 20 at the Woodlands. He was born May 6, 1916 in Whitmore Lake, Michigan, son of Henry Phelps Dodge and Josephine McCormick Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, his four brothers, and his loving wife of 62 years, Lorraine Neumann Dodge. He is survived by his son, Harlow Phelps Dodge (wife Judy) of Gainesville, GA. and daughter Margaret D. Wolfe (husband Dr. Kenneth) of Huntington. He has four grandchildren, Harlow Frederick Dodge (Connie) of Cumming, GA, Elizabeth Lorraine Wolfe Von Hoene (Jeff) of Atlanta, GA, Kathryn Ann Wolfe Farrell (Patrick) of Huntington, and Harry Marshall Wolfe (David) of Louisville, KY. In addition, he has ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. During WWII Harlow served as a Major in the Army in North Africa and the China, Burma, India Theater. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan in 1937 and the M.I.T. Senior Executive Program in 1962. He was an executive with Western Electric for 43 years before retiring in 1981. The family wants to give special thanks to the loving, compassionate, skilled staff of the Woodlands, Hospice of Huntington, St. Mary's Hospital, and Drs. Ignatiadis, Coffman, and Pinson who were so terrific in caring for Harlow. The funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Mark Conner at 2 PM, Saturday, April 23 at Klingel Carpenter Mortuary with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Heritage Farm Foundation, 3300 Harvey Rd., Huntington, WV 25704 or Hospice of Huntington, 1101 Sixth Ave., Huntington, WV 25701.
