Barbara Elaine Young

Barbara E. Stokley Young (90) passed away after a short illness on January 1, 2016, in Gainesville, GA. Born October 4, 1925 in Winona, WV to Joseph O. and Maymie Stokley she was the 6th of 8 children. She was a graduate of Laird Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and was a practicing RN for over 30 yrs. in Huntington, WV at C&O Hospital and the Veterans Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 yrs. Leroy L. Young. She is survived by her children Lynne (Rick) Plummer, Mark (Debbie) Young. Grandchildren, Frank (Nikki) Booth, Ben (Elder) Booth, Palmer Booth (Kerr) Ramsay, Katina (Jason) Haught, Jeromy (Allisa) Dishman. Great Grandchildren, McRee and Maxwell Booth, Ford Ramsay, Bryson , Olivia and Lillian Haught and Makenzie Dishman. She has one surviving sibling Roberta (Jim) Fox. Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary and conclude at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Saturday, 10:00 a.m. until service time. Honorary Pallbearers are Frank M. Booth IV, Ben Booth, Kerr Ramsay, Jeromy Dishman and Jason Haught. The family would like to thank the staff and sitters of Morningside of Gainesville, GA , Visiting Angels of Lake Lanier and Northeast Georgia Hospice for their loving care of Mrs. Young during her illness.
