Obituary

Nancy H. Crickard
(June 23, 1932 - May 22, 2016)

Nancy Marie Hendrick Crickard was invited into the kingdom of Our Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2016 after a courageous fight with cancer. A funeral service will be held 12 noon, Thursday May 26, 2016 by Father Paul Yuenger at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was born June 23, 1932 in southern West Virginia and went to Northfork High School and then to St Mary's School of Nursing in Huntington, WV. She worked many years as a registered nurse and also served as a teacher at St Mary's for several years where she trained new nurses and made many life long friends. She married Joseph Francis Crickard in 1953 and raised six children who love her dearly and will miss her the rest of their lives. They are Mary Anne Crickard (Leo Russell ) of Charleston, WV; Michael Crickard (Jan Booth) of Ceredo Kenova, WV; John Patrick Crickard of Mocksville, NC; Claire Hatten of Omaha NE; Susan Sincic (Glen Sincic) of Orlando, FL and David Crickard (Jane Crickard) of Lexington, KY. Nancy was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She was a devout Catholic. She loved her God, her church and her church community and was devoted to them. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Fred and Madaline Hendrick of Bluefield, WV; her beloved husband Joe of Huntington, WV; her dear brother Larry Hendrick of Bluefield, WV and her nephew Stephen Robertson of NC. Along with her children, she is survived by her brother Randolph Hendrick of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Her sister Kay Robertson (Steve Robertson) of Princeton, WV, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grand children and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by more friends than we can count. Thank you for the many prayers and Masses that were offered up for her, for the thoughtful greeting cards and notes that arrived every day in the mail for her during her illness and for all of you who so generously gave her rides to and from church and to her treatments. She loved you all and told us so on many occasions. We cannot thank everyone enough. In lieu of flowers, Nancy would ask that you donate to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church or to the Hospice House of Huntington.
