Obituary

Deborah Lynn Casey
(July 9, 1959 - January 8, 2017)

After a protracted battle with cancer, Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Casey, 57, of Huntington, went to be with her savior on Sunday, January 8th, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV. She was born July 9th, 1959 in Huntington to Joe Earl Edens and Carolyn Sue Diamond. Debbie is survived by her son Nathan Allen Casey of South Point, OH; her mother Carolyn Diamond of Harpers Ferry, WV; and her two brothers Duane Blevins of Huntington and Kenny Blevins of Harpers Ferry. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents, Berkie and Maxine Bias. Debbie was a lifelong resident of Huntington, WV and graduated from Huntington High in 1977 where she was a majorette and led the journalism club. She went on to graduate from Marshall University in 2006 with a degree in Applied Science. She worked with the Southwest Community Action Counsel and later moved on to Alcon where she served as a purchasing supervisor for twenty-five years. Later in life she was a dedicated customer service representative at Amazon. She also had a lifelong love of art and painting. When diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, she remained dedicated to her love of painting and in her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave, iron-willed woman, even throughout her final months. The visitation will be held from 2 PM to 4 PM at Beverly Hills Church of Christ on January 14, 2017. The funeral service will follow at 4 PM, also at Beverly Hills Church of Christ. Pastor Wayne Carter will be officiating. The family would especially like to thank the staff of St. Mary’s Medical Center for their constant, attentive care; and Klingel Carpenter Funeral Home for making the arrangements
