Obituary

Chin Sook Choi
(November 9, 1928 - November 16, 2017)

On November 16, 2017, Chin Choi died peacefully and with great dignity at the age of 89. She had lived in Huntington, West Virginia, a place she called home for over 50 years. There, she was closely associated with Marshall University, where her husband, Professor Soo Bock Choi, was a faculty member of the Political Science Department for 33 years. With her husband, Chin Choi helped found the MU International Students Club as a way for university faculty members, students and their families to share and enjoy their cultural backgrounds. The Club has grown substantially over time, and is now an integral part of university life. Chin Choi strongly believed in the importance of a good education, and encouraged many to pursue a higher education. She loved music and ballet, and appreciated beauty in many forms. She was also a devoted church member. But, most of all, she had a unique and wonderful personality that gave her a zest for life, a good sense of humor, and a deep well of inner strength. Chin Choi was predeceased by her husband. She is survived by her daughters and other family members who will remember her with great love and affection. To our friends at Bellaire – thank you. A Memorial Service will be Sunday, December 3,2017 at Woodmere Abby of Remembrance at 1:00p.m.
