Frank J Michel
(January 10, 1923 - September 22, 2017)

Frank J. Michel, 94, of Huntington passed away September 22, 2017 at Woodlands Retirement Community. A Huntington resident since 1957, Frank was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Sally, his daughter Susan (Larry) Moore of St. Augustine, FL, his son Greg (Betty) of Lexington, KY, four grandchildren: Cheryl Michel Law of San Francisco, CA; Kristen Sagafi of Oakland, CA; Matthew Michel and Alison Michel Wrenne, both of Lexington, KY; his dear nieces Judy Langkamer and Jane Johnson, and seven great grandchildren. Frank was a fighter pilot in the US Marine Corps during WWII and was called back to active duty during the Korean conflict. He worked for C&P Telephone Co. for 35 years and was an active Life Member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. As a dedicated member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church, Frank was part of the John Wesley Sunday School Class, served as the self-appointed Outside Usher, and was Pack Master of the church’s Cub Scout troop. He also served as a reading tutor at two elementary schools. Visitation is Monday, September 25, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary. At Frank’s request, there will be a private burial service following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Beverly Hills United Methodist Church. The Family wishes to express its deep gratitude to the healthcare staff and administration of The Woodlands for their support and care.
