Ross Edward Lawrence
(March 22, 1931 - November 27, 2012)



Ross Edward Lawrence, 81, of Columbia, Tenn., formerly of Huntington, WV, husband of Dorothy “Dotty” Lawrence, passed away Tuesday November 27, 2012. He was born March 22, 1931 in Scott Depot, WV a son of the late Joseph and Grace Stephens Lawrence. He was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church in Huntington and First Baptist Church in Spring Hill, Tenn. Additional survivors include four daughters and sons in law Debra and Victor Willis of Englewood, Fla., Laura and David Dygert of Huntington, Mary and Shawn Rennie of Spring Hill, Tenn. and Sarah and Kevin Fischer of Columbia, Tenn.; grandchildren Christopher and Abi Willis, Rebekkah Willis, Zachary Willis, Abbey Willis, Josh and Kristin Dygert, Ashley and Eric Hooks, Dina Dygert and Michael Davenport, Austin Rennie, Braden Fischer and Zoey Fischer; great grandchildren Collin Dygert, Zane, Aiden and Dustin Hooks, Nyle Dygert-Hooks and David Davenport; several nieces and nephews including Mary Ann and Jack Baylor, Joe and Dee Lawrence, Michael Lawrence, Butch and Debbie Siders, Suzie and Chuck Cole, Kaylin, Alex and Emma Cole; special cousins Eva Stephens, Anna Lee, Sue, Janie and Kevin Stephens. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Sandra Elaine Lawrence; brother Joseph Lawrence and best friend and cousin Kenneth Ray Stephens. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Sunday at the Reger Funeral Chapel with Dr. Victor B. Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Cemetery, Scott Depot, WV. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to the Cabell-Wayne Association for the Blind, 38 Washington Ave., Huntington, WV. The U.S. Air Force will conduct military graveside rites.
