Elza Otho Erwin Jr.
(May 24, 1928 - October 21, 2012)



Elza Otho Erwin, Jr., 84 of Ashland, Ky., formerly of South Point, Ohio passed from this life on Sunday, October 21, 2012 surrounded by his family, at the Kingsbrook Life Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Reger Funeral Chapel, by Pastor Phillip Warren; burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, Ohio. Mr. Erwin was born May 24, 1928 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Elza O. Erwin, Sr., and the late Helen Fulford Erwin. He was a retired employee of the Ashland Oil/Marathon Refinery and a member of the OCAW Local #3-505. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ella Ruby Napier Erwin and one sister Deloris Young. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law Rodney and Teri Erwin and Robert Erwin; two daughters and one son-in-law Marsha and Phillip Warren and Jennifer Hieronimus all of South Point, Ohio. Also surviving him are seven grandchildren and their spouses: Andrew, Nikki and Skylar Erwin, Jessica Warren Black and her husband Rick, Jarod Warren and his wife Julie, Courtney Hieronimus and Diana Erwin; three great grandchildren: Chelsea Grace Warren, Gavon Warren and Ryleigh Erwin; in addition, one brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Geri Erwin of Longview, Texas; and one sister Mary Modrow of Charlotte, North Carolina. The family would like to say thank you to the staff of Kingsbrook Life Care for ten years of loving care. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home.
