John F. Ray
(November 7, 1938 - October 1, 2012)



Mr. John F. Ray, 73, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday October 1, 2012 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Saturday at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born November 7, 1938 the son of the late Bascum G. and Ruth Fish Ray. He was a life long resident of the West End of Huntington. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunted and fished all of his life, passing that love onto his daughter and grandchildren. He retired from Pilgrim Glass after 40 years of service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers William, Lawrence and Ralph Ray. Survivors include his daughter Jeanette Ray and her fiancé Bryan Cook, grandchildren Megan Spradling (Duane Taylor), Michael Spradling and Tyler Davis (Darianne Short); brother Paul Ray; nieces and nephews Edna Hollenbeck, Debra Browning, Mary Evans, Greg Marshall, Bill Ray and Anthony Hart and Dreama Spence; special friends Dale and Vicky Burd ,Sandy Chafin and a host of numerous relatives and friends. A special thank you to the nursing staff 6th floor Oncology at St. Mary's Medical Center. John is with his faithful dog Cricket and is painfree now, hunting, fishing and gardening to his heart’s content. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Friday at the Reger Funeral Home.
