Obituary
Hiram Blankenship, Jr. “Junior”,76, of Kenova, passed away after a long illness on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at home. He was a loving brother, husband, father, papaw and pappy to so many that loved him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Blankenship, his parents, Hiram and Thelma Blankenship, three brothers and two sisters. He leaves behind his children and their spouses, Lisa (Bill) Palmer, Steve (Vicki) Blankenship, LaShelle (Scott) Stambaugh, all of Kenova; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Alex (Abbey), Marci, Christian, Allison, Austin, Jake (Morgan) and Jordan (Josie); six great grandbabies, Reese, Lilah, Ellie, Caroline, Jensen, and Judah all of who will miss him dearly. He is also survived by two brothers, Willis and Ellis; four sisters, Lillian, Irene, Sue, and Sylvia. He was a long time employee of Hamer Lumber Company. Those that knew him, knew he never met a stranger, never forgot anyone and loved his family dearly. His family would like to especially thank Andi, Rhonda and Tina with Hospice of Huntington for their relationship, constant compassion, care and support over the last year. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 1 pm at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Dock’s Creek Cemetery Kenova.
