Obituary



Kathleen Naomi Petrie, 92, of Huntington, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, November 4, 2017 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. Graveside funeral services will be conducted by Minister Gary Barrett at 1 pm Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation or procession to the cemetery. Kathleen was born on May 22, 1925 in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Bernard Avery and Ruby Myrtle Belcher Pennington. She was a retired employee of Kerr Glass and a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Lee Barrett; a son, Ricky Allen Petrie; brothers, Bernard, Carroll, James, Robert, Donald, Leslie, and Raymond Pennington; and a sister, Mary Pennington Borders. She is survived by one son, Gary (Teresa) Barrett of Wichita, KS; one daughter, Jean (Mike) Haynie of Huntington; a daughter-in-law, Cary Petrie and her daughter, Kristen of Carrollton, TX; two grandchildren, Alicia (Todd) Cutter of Irving, TX and Amy (Wes) Decker of Wichita, KS; six great grandchildren, Ryan, Kayley, Brianna, and Tessa Decker of Wichita, KS and Nathan and Hannah Cutter of Irving, TX; and many loving and caring nieces, nephews, and cousins. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
