ObituaryMABEL EDWARDS MABEL EDWARDS, 90, of Milton, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at her residence. She was born October 16, 1925, in Milton, W.Va., the daughter of the late J.E. and Vernice Jordan Clagg. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Edwards Sr.; grandson Terry Lee West in 2012; four brothers, Paul, Cecil, Roy and Darrell "Duke" Clagg; and one sister, Hazel Fellure. She is survived by her son Marvin "Butch" Edwards; daughter Phyllis and devoted best friend and "my other boy" Isom Miller; grandchildren Timothy (Rhonda) West and Marlene Edwards; step-grandchildren Dale (Rose) Miller, Doug (Noreen) Miller, Debbie (Tom) Edwards; five great-grandchildren, Virginia (Gina), Jeramy (J.T.), Tim, Jessicca, and Brianna; five great-great-grandchildren, Leia, Levi, Arrya, Haley, and Olivia. She was a charter member of the Lower Creek Methodist Church, a member of the church choir, church quartet and a Sunday school teacher. Mabel enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren and family gatherings. The family extends their thanks to her Church in the Valley family for all their prayers and support. Appreciation is extended for the care given by her caregivers over the past eight years. They also express a special thank you to Hospice of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Dr. Stan Maynard. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Mabel was a model of spiritual love, joy and kindness. She will be missed by all who knew her.
