Betty Lou Grant Childers, 81,of Salt Rock, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 16 , 2011 at St. Marys Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Mt. Calvary Church with Pastor Ronnie Eplin officiating. Burial will follow in Green Valley Cemetery. She was born August 19, 1929, in Huntington, a daughter of the late Lee Vander and Josephine Kingery Grant. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband H. C. Johnny Childers; son-in-law, L.D. Butch Kasey; four brothers, Gene, Harry, Don and Henry Grant; four sisters, Eloise Akers, Irene Barnett, Pauline Wells and Norma Smith. She was a Charter Member of Mt. Calvary Church and served as church secretary and a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She retired from Childers Insurance Agency. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Patty and Lloyd Day and Laura Kasey all of Salt Rock; five grandchildren and their spouses, Steve and Jamie Day, Stacie and Jasper Banzon, Mike and Ashley Kasey, Scott and Kim Day and Matthew Kasey; six great grandchildren, Samantha, Max and Josh Banzon, Jackson and Gracie Day, and Will Kasey. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday April 18, 2011 at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville and after noon on Tuesday at the church.
