ObituaryAlma May Dick Childers
Alma May Dick Childers, 92, of Salt Rock, West Virginia, went home to be with her Lord Monday, March 11, 2013. She was born February 11, 1921, daughter of the late Joseph and Urcie Morrison Dick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Childers, her grandson 1st Lt. Therrel Shane Childers and sons-in-law, T. Michael Hayes and Randy Templeton. She was also preceded in death by brothers Ralph and Russell Dick, and sister Kathleen Frye. She was the mother of Mary (David) Bias, Donald (Brenda) Childers of Salt Rock; Richard (Anita) Childers of Huntington; Joe (Judy) Childers of Powell, Wyoming; Judy Hayes of South Point, Ohio; Natalie (Greg) Walker of Willow Wood, Ohio and Kathleen Templeton of Arnold, Missouri. Alma is also survived by 13 grandchildren: David Bias, Paul Bias, Alisha Adkins, Sara Swann, Becky Cone, Nathan Childers, Sandra Brown, Sam Childers, Ben Walker, Jessi Walker, Jonna Stumpo, Alison Jones and Kirk Templeton, 33 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was a loving aunt and friend to many. Alma was the oldest member of Madison United Baptist Church, where she taught the young adult Sunday School class for many years. Visitation will be at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, Thursday, March 14, from 6 until 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville Friday, March 15, 2013 at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Baylous Cemetery, Salt Rock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Huntington or the charity of your choice.
