Shirley Jean Donahue, 75, of Ona, WV, passed away November 24, 2014, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born September 27, 1939, in Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Harry Adkins and Dorothy Yeager Adkins. She is survived by her husband Jimmy Donahue; daughters and sons-in-law Kimila and Tom Jones of Ona, and Shonda and the Honorable James H. Young of Huntington; three sisters Leta Phillips of Branchland, Eula Wagoner of Hamlin and Birdie Gandy of Teays Valley; two brothers Freddie Adkins and Bobby Adkins of Hamlin; two grandchildren Katherine (Frank) OHara and Kurt Jones; and her special companion Miss Ellie. Shirley cherished her visits with her many customers, large family and host of friends. A memorial mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Huntington, by Father Dean Borgmeyer and Monsignor Lawrence Luciana. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is in charge of arrangements. The family would like to give a thank you to her special caregivers for all the love that she received, Brenda McComas, Lonna Fargo, Donna Turner, Beth Louden and Paige Louden. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Hospice House or the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.
