Heaven will never welcome a sweeter Mama, Wanda V. “Granny” Wooten Dean, 87, of Huntington, WV, passed away July 19, 2015. She was born December 28, 1927, in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late Verlin and Rita Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her 1st husband, Earl Austin Wooten, her second husband, Charles G. Dean; and one granddaughter, Natalie Wooten. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Claude Earl and Jo Ann Wooten of Huntington, Geraldine Kay and Sam Perry of Barboursville, Roger and Norma Wooten of Huntington, and Randy and Mary Wooten of Huntington; three sisters and brother-in-law, Beatrice Wooten, Emmogene Wooten-Greathouse, and Phyllis and Leon Harless all of Huntington; one brother, Clarence Adkins of Proctorville, OH; ten grandchildren, Melissa Haynes, Jessica Grant, Andrea Morgan, Earlene Adkins, Todd Lester, Tyler Lester, Gail Lacy, Scott Wooten, Merle Wooten, and Randi Leigh Dalton; and twenty great grandchildren, Sarah Sharpe, Harrison Grant, Vivienne Grant, Cash Morgan, Anson Morgan, Allison Wooten, Savannah Lacy, Shannon Lacy, Sidney Lacy, Amber Wooten, Katie Wooten, Austin Wooten, Wesley Dalton, Ethan Dalton, Olivia Dalton, Kaylin Adkins, Hannah Bentle, Will Lester, Andrew Lester and Derek Lester. Grandsons and friends will be pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Elder Danny Wooten and Rev. Jesse Lacy. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery, East Lynn, WV. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Beatrice Wooten, Thelma Fouch, Sharon Bates, Pam Spry, and Patty Baxter and a special thanks to C. Dewayne Tackett, MD. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV, 25709.
