Opal Hay Motz, 96, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington with Pastor Andy Magnusson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born January 17, 1915 in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late Fletcher and Chloe Blankenship Hay. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward Motz; one sister, Oral Stewart and one brother, Wetzel Hay. Mrs. Motz was a member of Baptist Temple, Huntington, WV. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Joe Melba of Moore, SC and Sara and Tom Elmore of Chesapeake, OH; one sister, Clara Osburn of Lavalette, WV; five grandchildren, Scott and Courtney Melba of Simpsonville, SC, John and Kay Melba of Moore, SC, Rick and Natosha Elmore of Barboursville, WV, Greg Elmore of Chesapeake, OH and Mike and Melissa Elmore of Norwalk, OH; and five great grandchildren, Hayley and Collin Melba and Dylan, Jonah and Ben Elmore. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Beard Mortuary.
