EILEEN FRAME PETTY PETTIGREW, 90, FORMERLY OF HUNTINGTON, WV, AND MOST RECENTLY OF LOUISVILLE, KY, PASSED AWAY AUGUST 26, 2011 AT HOME.

MARGARET EILEEN FRAME WAS BORN MARCH 5, 1921 IN HARLAN, KENTUCKY, THE ONLY CHILD OF ROBERT WINSLOW “WINDY” FRAME AND MYRTLE GATES FRAME OF MT. STERLING, KY.

EILEEN GRADUATED FROM HARLAN HIGH SCHOOL AND EASTERN KENTUCKY COLLEGE WITH A DEGREE IN COMMERCE AND THE TITLE OF “MISS EASTERN”. THROUGHOUT HER PROFESSIONAL CAREER SHE SHARED HER KNOWLEDGE OF TYPING AND BOOKKEEPING AND TAUGHT THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS THOSE SKILLS.

SHE REARED HER CHILDREN IN HUNTINGTON, WV AND WAS ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN THE CIVIC, SPIRITUAL AND SOCIAL ASPECTS OF THE COMMUNITY. EILEEN LOVED LIFE AND LOVED SEEING OTHERS ENJOYING IT. SHE WAS AN AVID GOLFER AND RECEIVED MANY CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOLADES WHILE MAINTAINING MEMBERSHIP AT THE SUGARWOOD AND ESQUIRE COUNTRY CLUBS IN HUNTINGTON. SHE TOOK PLEASURE IN HER FLOWER AND VEGETABLE GARDENS, CULTIVATING FLOWER BEDS AND ENJOYING THE VISITING BIRDS UNTIL THE LAST YEAR OF HER LIFE. EILEEN NEVER TIRED OF EXERCISING HER MIND, WORKING WORD PUZZLES OF ALL TYPES AND SITTING AT NUMEROUS BRIDGE AND POKER EVENTS. HER LOVE OF MUSIC AND ALL THINGS MUSICAL WAS CONTINUALLY DEMONSTRATED AT THE PIANO OR ON HER ORGAN AT HOME AND SOCIAL GATHERINGS. SHE ALSO HUMMED ALONG IN THE FORUM KAZOO BAND. SHE WAS AN EXCELLENT COOK AND TO THE DELIGHT OF HER FAMILY, ALWAYS PROVIDED PECAN PIE AT SPECIAL EVENTS. SHE WAS GRACIOUS AND HOSPITABLE AND ADORED ENTERTAINING GROUPS LARGE AND SMALL.

IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS, SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY LOVING HUSBAND AND FATHER TO THEIR THREE CHILDREN, WILLIAM CRITTENDEN PETTY, JR. ON AUGUST 25, 1964 AND BY HER SECOND HUSBAND PAUL D. PETTIGREW ON DECEMBER 19, 2003. INFANT GRAND-DAUGHTER, REBECCA LYNN WILDE PASSED AWAY IN NOVEMBER 1978.

SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER THREE CHILDREN WIN ELLEN WILDE OF BLOOMFIELD, INDIANA AND HUSBAND DAVID; PHILIP CAMERON PETTY OF FAIRMONT, WV AND WIFE CATHY; JAN PETTY BEARE OF LOUISVILLE, KY AND HUSBAND DOUG, A BELOVED DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, LAURA PETTIGREW OF CINCINNATI, OHIO; EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN DAVID C. WILDE OF LOUISVILLE, KY AND WIFE CARRIE; LAURA ANGERMEIER OF LOUISVILLE AND HUSBAND JEREMY; WILLIAM C. PETTY,III OF PITTSBURGH PA AND FIANCÉ LAUREN ANDERSON; ROBERT BEARE OF LOUISVILLE; ELISABETH BEARE OF LOUISVILLE; JASON BEARE OF LOUISVILLE AND WIFE MELISSA; JENNIFER PETTIGREW OF CINCINNATI; J.D. PETTIGREW OF CINCINNATI; FOUR GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN WHO REFER TO HER AS “GRANDMA GREAT” DYLAN AND DAWSON WILDE; ADDISON AND KATE ANGERMEIER; ALL OF LOUISVILLE AND A FAMILY FRIEND RICHARD DOUTHITT.

ALSO SURVIVING: JOHN EVANS OF LOUISVILLE, HER LOVING AND DEVOTED SPECIAL FRIEND AND COMPANION.

EILEEN WAS A MOST BEAUTIFUL PERSON; GRACEFUL, INTELLIGENT, HUMOROUS, WARM AND CARING. SHE WAS BELOVED AND WILL BE MISSED BY HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

VISITATION WILL BE HELD AT 1:00 PM, Monday, AUGUST 29, 2011 AT BEARD Mortuary, Huntington SERVICE AT 2:00 PM AT THE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Ron Burnsworth officiating. BURIAL WILL follow AT FOREST LAWN Memorial Park.
