Adele Beckett
June 21, 1915 - February 1, 2009


Mrs. Adele Beckett,93, of Wayne, WV, passed away Sunday February 1, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastors Donald Walker and Trent Eastham officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. She was born June 21, 1915 at Wayne, WV, a daughter of the late Pleasant and Frankie Bing Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Franklin "Butch" Beckett, and a son-in-law, James Woodrum. She was a master seamstress and a charter member of New Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters and their spouses; Barbara and Alan Meek of Huntington, Gail and Virgil Kelly of Huntington, Nancy and Michael Land of Kalamazoo, MI, Margaret "Peggy" Beckett, of Wayne, WV and Bonnie Woodrum, of Elkins, WV; 15 grandchildren, James Woodrum, Wendy Adele Bayer, Kris Woodrum, Patricia Bush, Brian Kelly, Cynthia Byrne, Lee Kelly, Laura Blake, Jason Beckett, Meghan Dodrill, Joshua Meek, Andrew Land, Zachary Land, Erik Lund, and Emily Lund; 15 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Iris Botnik of California, and Gladys Adkins, of Cleveland, OH In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Baptist Church Children's Department.
