Sidney William Estep
September 8, 1924 - February 15, 2009



Sidney William Estep, 84, of Huntington, WV, loving husband and father, went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 15, 2009, in River's Bend Health Care, South Point, OH. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Ray Vance and Pastor Buddy Muncy officiating. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery, Salt Rock, WV. Sidney was born September 8, 1924 in Branchland, WV a son of the late Hiram Colonel and Sarah Gilkerson Estep. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Reata Ruth Perry Estep; two daughters, Drema S. Salvatore and Leita Fairchild; a sister, Irene Hatfield; and three brothers, Earnest Estep, Clovis "Red" Estep, and Cecil Estep. He was a retired employee of the former Houdaille Industries; a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War; and a member of Fifth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon. Survivors include: his wife, Macey Adkins Estep; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Sidney W. Estep, Jr. of Huntington, Rick and Anita Estep of Hurricane, WV, and Jeffrey W. and Kim Estep of Nitro, WV; a step daughter, Brenda Stotesbery of Cleveland, OH; two step sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Jeannie Adkins and Taylor and Diane Adkins, all of Wayne, WV; a sister, Eva Lee of Salt Rock, WV; a brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Lisa Estep of Huntington; two sisters-in-law, Alma Estep of Lavalette and Mildred Estep of Huntington; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of River's Bend Health Care for their loving care. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, February 16, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary.
