Robert Franklin Dundas
(December 14, 1920 - September 8, 2010)



Robert Franklin Dundas, 89, went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2010 at his home, surrounded by loved ones."Bob" was born on December 14, 1920, in Huntington, WV, to Alva and Robena Walton Dundas. He met and married his beloved wife Lillian in 1943. Together they were involved in church music ministry for many years in the Huntington and Charleston, WV areas. In 1943, Mr. Dundas enlisted in the Army Air Force and was designated the radio operator on a B-24 Bomber, completing 45 missions in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged having attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant.He graduated from Marshall University in 1949 then worked for the Army Corps of Engineers and Union Carbide, retiring in 1980 and moving to Lakeland, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, who passed on June 21 of this year, his parents, and his brothers Paul and Baby John.He is survived by his daughter Sharon Gartrell, son-in-law Jim, three step-grandchildren, three nieces - their children and grand children.Visitation will be Friday, September 17, at 10:00, Community of Grace, 225 28th Street, Huntington, with a memorial service for Robert and Lillian to follow at 11:00. Interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington.
