Hilda Marguerite Winegar
(January 30, 1922 - September 28, 2010)



Hilda Marguerite Winegar, 88, of Ona, WV, formerly of Huntington, WV, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Midland Meadows Senior Living, Ona. She was born January 30, 1922 in Scottown, OH a daughter of the late Curtis and Frances Dillon Burcham. Her husband, Wilbur E. Winegar; a daughter, Beverly Kay Samuels; four sisters, Sylvia Burcham, Wilma Tagg, Louise Chisam, and Darlene Fraley; and three brothers, William E. Burcham, Bernard Burcham, and Freddie Burcham also preceded her in death. She was a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church; Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 9738; and Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees. Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Ret. AF Capt. Gary E. Winegar and Karen J. Winegar of Pensacola, FL; five grandchildren, Lisa Jordan and her husband, Dr. Charles Jordan of Derby, Kansas, William L. Samuels of Irvine, CA, Msgt. Scott Winegar and his wife, Elena of Vacaville, CA, Ashley Barksdale and Brandon Barksdale of Pensacola, FL; four great grandchildren, Amanda Jordan, Christopher Jordan, Breanna Winegar, and Orion Dickinson; two step great grandchildren, Alyssa Greaves and Shannon Greaves; one sister, Carol Finley of Lebanon, OH; one brother, Ray Burcham of Huntington; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Ellena Powers of Proctorville, OH. The family would like to thank the staff at Midland Meadows for the wonderful care that they gave to Marguerite while she was a resident there. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, October 2, 2010, at Ridgelawn Memorial Park Abbey of Devotion with Pastor Nathan McClay officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday at the Abbey of Devotion.
