Erma Lee McSweeney
(October 1, 1921 - January 6, 2012)


Mrs. Erma Lee McSweeney, 90, of Huntington, wife of James Percy McSweeney, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Rev. Fred Ramey officiating. Burial will be in Wallace-Mathis Cemetery. She was born October 1, 1921 in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Shelby and Blanche Wallace Bias. She was a retired Seamstress with the former Huntington Dress Factory, and was a member of the 1st Altizer Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her 1st Husband, Fred Ross, grandson Charles Denson Bias, sisters Pauline Lawhorn and Lucille Meadows and a brother Eris Bias. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Larry Dale and Linda Bias, of Huntington; grandchildren, Dale and Kim Bias of Proctorville, OH, and Denise and Butchie Erwin, of Winter Haven, FL; great-grand children, Bryson Bias, Amber Marie Bias, Brianna Erwin and Hanna Erwin; Sisters, Lucille Meadows of Chardon, OK, Betty Bowen of Huntington, and Jean and Buck Holley of South Point, OH; step children, Diane and Darrell Stevens of Greenup, KY, Jim and Nancy McSweeney of Huntington, and Danny and Melody McSweeney of Huntington; and an “adopted” son and daughter-in-law, Ernie and Charlene Ritchie, and their son, Jason Ritchie. Friends may call from 6 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, January 9, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary. The family tanks Hospice of Huntington for their support and care.
