Mary Louise Watkins
(August 9, 1919 - January 6, 2012)


Mary Louise Watkins, 92, of Proctorville, OH, formerly of Lesage, WV, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born August 9, 1919 in Clay County, WV a daughter of the late Peter Edward and Nancy Belle Elliott Hart. Her husband, Walter Watkins; a grandson, Randall Swann; a special son-in-law, Robert Swann; three sisters; and three brothers, also preceded her in death. She was a member of Greenbottom Baptist Church. Survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy Marie Swann and Margaret Faye and Donald Layman of Proctorville, OH; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bert Edward and Sue Watkins of Lesage and Phillip Rodney and Rebecca Watkins of South Point, OH; four grandchildren, USAF Chief Master Sgt. Robert R. Swann and his wife, Jill of St. Mary's, GA, Andrea Watkins of Lesage, Mary L. Blake and her husband Timothy of Proctorville and Donald B. Layman and his wife, Cortni of Proctorville; six great grandchildren, Tiffany Foran of Valdosta, GA, Travis D. Swann, Zachary Foran, and Brittany K. Swann, all of St. Mary's, GA and Tyler R. Blake and Timothy J. Blake, both of Proctorville, OH; a special brother-in-law, Henry Watkins and his wife, Bonnie of Huntington, WV; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2012, in the White Chapel Mausoleum, White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV, with Pastor Doug Spurlock officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Sunday in the mausoleum. Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
