Judy Gayle Phillips
(September 18, 1946 - March 14, 2015)



Judy Gayle Phillips, 68, of Emporia, VA, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, in Roanoke Rapids, NC. She was born September 18, 1946 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Pete and Marcella Sutton Phillips. Her paternal grandparents, Norman and Ila Mae Phillips; maternal grandparents, Carl and Marie Sutton,and an infant brother, Steven Grant also preceded her in death. Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Barry Stephanos of Laurel, MD and Cindy Daniels and Duane Durni of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Ryan, Steven, and Katelyn Stephanos of Laurel, MD; a sister, Patricia Griffith of Huntington; a niece, Jennifer Nicholson and her husband, George Nicholson, and their children, Grant and Blythe Nicholson of Lexington, SC; a nephew, Jonathan Wesley Griffith and his wife, Courtney, and their children, Kinsley and Hudson Griffith; and a cousin, Ted Wilson and his wife, Linda Wilson of Huntington. The family would like to express a special thanks to her cousin, Ted Wilson. Private services will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday at Woodmere Abbey of Remembrance, with Pastor Jack Gillette officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
