Obituary

Devante Latrell Marable
(February 18, 1993 - February 7, 2018)



Devante Latrell Marable, 24 of Huntington, WV passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018.  He was born on February 18, 1993 in Huntington, WV to Stacey Nicole Mestel.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joe Coleman. Devante attended Huntington High School where he played Varsity Football and Basketball.  After graduating high school with honors, he attended Concord University in the fall of 2011.  While at Concord University, he joined the fraternity of Tau Kappa Epsilon.  After leaving Concord, he came back to Huntington and became employed with Home City Ice.  In 2013, Devante decided to pursue another endeavor in his life and joined the United State Navy.  He attended Naval boot camp in 2014 and after his completion, he was ordered to the Carrier Harry S. Truman in August 2014.  During this time, he became a Religious Program Specialist 2 (RP2).  Some of the qualifications that RP2 Marable achieved were Surface Warfare, Air Warfare and Information Pins.  RP2 Marable also received the Naval Achievement Medal for his work throughout the 2015-2016 deployment.  RP2 Marable participated in countless volunteering events which help lead the Truman to several volunteer awards such as the Bainbridge Award.  Devante is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Marable; son, Taurean and a special angel on the way, Mya Faith; loving parents, Stacey and Julian Coleman; maternal grandparents, Mary Mestel and Brett Layne; paternal grandmother, Janella Coleman; brothers & sisters, Jacob & Jordin Coleman of Huntington, Dalo, Dionte & P.J. Marable and Savannah Gaines.  Also, surviving is a host of special aunts, uncles, other family members and friends.  Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon, Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Donté Jackson & Dallas Jones, officiating.  Family will welcome friends at 11:00 A.M.  Burial will follow services at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
