Obituary

Nathaniel Edward Williams
(June 30, 1926 - February 11, 2018)



Nathaniel Edward Williams, 91 of Huntington, WV, answered God’s call on February 11, 2018. Nathaniel was the son of the late Edward Nathaniel Williams and Alice Alberta McClauhan. He attended Barnett and Douglass High Schools graduating as the Class Valedictorian. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army. After returning home he worked on his love of drafting engineering and design working at Arternetic of North American, Huntington Choir, Polan Industries and Kaiser Aluminum. He also worked at Inco Alloys and Stearns & Rogers in Denver, CO. He was the grandson of the late Rev. A.D. Lewis. A member of Alexandria Freeman Lodge #3 F&AM 32nd degree. Nathaniel loved playing the piano and the guitar. In his early years he taught weight lifting, but most of all he loved teaching Sunday School. He taught Noon Day Bible Study for 26 years. One of his favorite bible verses was Romans 12:19. He received the honor of being the oldest member of First Baptist Church. Nathaniel was married 51 years to Emma Jean Bass Williams. He was preceded in death by one son, William E. Morton. Joining the family at a young age was a great-niece, Jasmine L. Johnson. He also leaves behind his four-legged constant companion, Shea-ah and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon, Monday, February 19, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Joseph Evans, officiating.  The family will welcome friends one hour prior to services.  Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites.
