Obituary

MERVIN FINLEY "Bill" WOODARD, 82, of Milton went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 24, 2004, at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2004, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with the Rev. Caudle Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Culloden Cemetery. He was born March 24, 1921, in Cabell County, W.Va., a son of the late Elvy and Maggie Billups Woodard. He was also preceded in death by eight siblings and one grandson, Danny Dean Plumley. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for C&O Railway and attended Sousannah Free Will Baptist Church on Charleys Creek. He is survived by his wife, Sophie Krupnick Woodard; two sons and daughters-in-law, Junior and Marcella Woodard of Milton and Lawrence and Kathy Woodard of Hurricane; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jewell and Dee Plumley of Milton and Rebecca and Greg Rowsey of Milton; two sisters, Ivy Woodard and Ruby Hupp; four grandchildren, Chad Woodard and Chase Woodard, both of Hurricane, Carla Toth and Sarah Woodard, both of Barboursville; three step grandchildren, Lauren, Mariah and Jason; and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 26 at Heck Funeral Home.
