Obituary

Della Mae Chapman, 89, of Scott Depot, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007 in CAMC of Teays Valley.  Graveside service will be conducted 1 PM, Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Neal Cemetery, Milton with Rev. Stephen Barnette, Rev. Timothy Barnette, and Rev. Tim Campbell officiating.  She was born January 24, 1918 in Cabell Co., WV a daughter of the late Arthur A. and Harriet Grant Collins.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Elmer Lewis “Bill” Chapman; three brothers, Loranzo, Harry E., and Ralph Collins; three sisters, Garnet Osborn, Mamie Collins, and Doris Hurley.  She was a 1937 graduate of Milton High School and valedictorian of her class.  She was saved at Beulah Ann Baptist Church in 1935 and attended Bethany Baptist Church in St. Albans.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Stephen Barnette of Scott Depot; four grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.  The family requests donations be made to Bethany Baptist Church, Missionary Fund, 2504 Grant Ave., St. Albans, WV  25177.  There will be no visitation.
