Ida Louise Black, 80, of Milton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 9, 2012, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with Pastor George Surgeon officiating. Burial will follow in Templeton Cemetery, Glenwood. She was born Oct. 20, 1931 in Milton, W.Va., a daughter of Henry “Rube” Jenkins and Martha Ann (Legg) Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her sisters- Ella Edmonds, Della Stevens, Iva & Myrtle Mae Jenkins, and four brothers- Willie, Henry, Virgil, and Glen Jenkins. She was employed for many years at the Huntington Dress Factory and later at Furniture Manufacturers Inc. She was a member of Lawrence Chapel Church most of her life, serving in various positions including secretary and a member of the choir. She is survived by her husband, Vernon Black of Milton, her son, Ronald Black, and her daughter-in-law, Donetta (Courts) Black of Escondido, Ca., one sister in law and husband, Phyllis and Clinton Jenkins, one brother in law and wife, Verlion and Louise Black, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 11, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
