ERNESTINE ROSS
(September 3, 1929 - September 9, 2014)



Ernestine Ross, 85 of Huntington, W.Va., a Godly lady, mother and grandmother who exhibited high moral and spiritual principles, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 09, 2014 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, W.Va. She was born September 3, 1929 in Bluefield, W.Va the daughter of the late, Cecil H. and Cassie Daniels Gibson. She was a retired Jewelry Store Clerk, a founding member of First Christian Church in Bluefield, W.Va and member of Real Life Christian Center in Huntington, W.Va. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her former husband, Nathan Coolidge Ross, one sister, Margaret Davis and two brothers, William and Clarence Gibson. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon and Bishop Charles D. Shaw of Huntington, W.Va. and Earnestine Greenlee of Las, Vegas, Nevada; four brothers, Robert Gibson (Mildred) of Marietta, GA, and Lacy Gibson of Bluefield, W.Va., Eugene Gibson (Jackie) of Akron, OH. and Walter Gibson of Bluefield, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Sharis A. Shaw Hunter (Ronnie) Charles D. Shaw II. (Ashley), Brandon L. Shaw all of Huntington, W.Va., Monica C. Greenlee of Tallahassee, FL and Carlos R. Greenlee of CA; one great grandson, Charles D. Shaw III. of Huntington, W.Va. and a host of family and friends. Ernestine's Homegoing Celebration will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Real Life Christian Center in Huntington, W.Va. with Bishop, Charles D. Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the church. The Real Life Christian Center men will serve as pallbearers. Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va is caring for the family.
