Nathan Everett Adkins, 92 of Ceredo, WV, passed away, Monday, May 7, 2018 in Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born August 3, 1925 in Huntington, WV. the son of the late, Hughe Scott and Myrtle Ivy Smith Adkins. He was owner of Adkins Transfer, Inc. in Huntington and Tallahassee, FL and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandson, Mathew Kirk Adkins; daughter, Teresa Jean Adkins Carter; mother and father-in-law, Henry and Belva (Thompson) VanHoose; brother-in-law, Harry Scarberry and a niece, Linda (Scarberry) Adkins. He is survived by his wife, Doris VanHoose Adkins of Ceredo, WV; children, Hugh Michael Adkins of New Jersey, John Alan (Sheila Clark) Adkins; Grandchildren, Akini F. Adkins-Akini (Marla) Flanders NJ, Korey Adkins, Mobile, AL and Sunni Adkins, Brock Adkins, Jaida Adkins, Brenna Adkins all of Huntington; Great-grandchildren, Jordan and Madison Adkins Chastain both of Destin FL, Savas, Skylar & Saxon Adkins-Akini Of Flanders, NJ, Deklen Adkins of Huntington and a special friend, Ryan. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, East Pea Ridge Rd. Barboursville, WV with Tim Arthur officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
