Richard L Adkins
(June 28, 1927 - October 8, 2011)


Richard Lowell Adkins, 84, of Huntington W.Va. passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Robert Talbert. Burial will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery Kenova W.Va. He was born June 28, 1927 in Huntington, W.Va. the son of the late Grover and Nola Bailey Adkins. He was a retired CSX Railroad Clerk. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Buena Vista Lodge # 60 AF&AM of Prichard, W.Va., whose members will conduct masonic graveside rites. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Talitha Adkins, two brothers Robert Adkins and Larry David Adkins and two sisters Eulalee Bryant and Mary Margaret Paulskievich. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law Brett Ashley and Robin Adkins and Gregory Scott and Debbie Adkins all of Lavalette, W.Va. Five grandchildren Matthew Ryan and Annie Adkins of Lavalette, Adam Scott Adkins, Seth Michael Adkins and his fiancé Mary Tilton all of Huntington, Brandon Ashley and Courtney Adkins of Lavalette and Jordan Michael and Kayla Adkins of Lesage, W.Va. Nine very special great grandchildren Sydnie, Hallie and Parker Adkins, Layne, Brady, Christopher and Zoe Adkins and Bailey and Jake Stewart, a brother and sister-in-law Glenn and Dora Adkins of Gallipolis, Ohio., four sisters and two brothers-in-law Eloise Murphy and Patty and Jack Graham all of Lavalette, Nancy and Leon Young and Betty Mynes all of Huntington and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6 till 8pm Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington.
