Eugene Gene Watts
(March 4, 1932 - October 4, 2011)



Eugene Gene Paul Watts, 79, of Huntington, husband of Roberta Benedict Watts, passed away Tuesday October 4, 2011 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 pm Saturday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Jamie Gump. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Huntington. He was born March 4, 1932 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Shelby S.O. and Ona Tabor Watts. He was a former auto salesman. Gene was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 93 of Kenova and the Howard P. Hall VFW Post 1064 of Huntington. He was a member of the Elks 313 and a Ham Radio Operator. Gene was a longtime member and Elder of the Christian Church (DOC) at Vinson Memorial Christian Church and Madison Avenue Christian Church. He also loved to sing during church services. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step mother Beulah Watts; a son Ronnie Angelo; two brothers and Chester Watts, Bill Watts; a step brother Carl Morton; and a step sister Betty Wray. Additional survivors include his children Darrell (Janice ) Watts and Julie Watts all of Mr. Vernon, Ohio, Lisa (Joe) Fecera of Seminole, Florida, Chris (Shelly ) Watts of Bedford, VA, Ruth (Rick ) McCloud of Huntington and Bob (Stephanie) Angelo of Coal Grove, Oho; grandchildren Aaron Watts, Heather Watts, Harley Filyaw, Dustin Fecera, Kelli McCloud, Drew McCloud, Taylor, Olivia and Peyton Watts and Nick (Angela) Angelo and Sam Angelo; great grandson Landon Angelo; sister and brother in law Linda and John Persun; special niece Erin Persun and her fiancé Philip Garrett. Contributions may be made to the Madison Avenue Christian Church, 722 12th St. West, Huntington, WV 25704. American Legion Post 93 of Kenova will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call from Noon until service time on Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home.
