Theresa Arcuri Linkous
(October 1, 1925 - October 7, 2011)



Theresa Arcuri Linkous, 86, of Huntington, Formerly of Wilmington, NC, died October 7, 2011.  She was born to Frank and Angela Maria Arcuri on October 1, 1925.  She was preceded in death by her husband: Carl Buddy Linkous and brothers; Julius and Joe and sister Rose.  She is survived by her children, Bobbie Queen (Mike) of Wilmington, NC and Carl Moe Linkous (Becky) of Huntington, WV. Her grandchildren are Brett Queen of Wilmington, NC, Amy Knight of Greensboro, NC, Carly Taylor and Jake Linkous of Nashville, TN. and Haley Wingrove of Huntington, WV. She has five great grandchildren; Joshua, Jacob, and Emma Grace Knight, Kamryn Queen and Brynn Taylor. She is also survived by six brothers and sisters: Fannie Graig, Dante Arcuri, Virginia Williams, Mary Gerry, Ben Arcuri and Margaret Wessels.  Theresa was valedictorian of her class at Rome (Ohio) High School. She graduated from Marshall College and taught Home Economics for thirty years serving at Enslow Jr. High, Huntington East and Huntington High. After retirement, she and Buddy moved to Wilmington, NC and were members of First Baptist Church, which became the center of their lives. Theresa volunteered at the Activities Center and in the church kitchen.  Theresa loved to cook and sew. She enjoyed making clothes for herself, her daughter, and her granddaughters and her homemade cinnamon rolls were somewhat of a legend with her family.  A celebration of her life will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 13th at the First Baptist Church, 411 Market St., Wilmington, NC 28401. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church.
